TEMPLE RULES
GENERAL RULES
- Shoes are not allowed in the prayer hall, atrium and dining hall areas. Shoes must at all times be placed in shoe racks. Shoes left on the floor will get placed into available bins in the shoe racks.
- Langar food is cooked on the temple premises. Devotees are requested NOT to bring COOKED food.
- Please do not bring uncooked food for offerings to Gods/Goddesses. It is difficult to store it and then throw it after the expiry date.
- Your offerings in cash will be preferred because money is needed to maintain the temple. You may, however bring dry and/or fresh fruit for offerings which can to distributed to devotees as “Parshad”
- Please do not use foreign currency, especially foreign coins, for offerings.
- Kindly don’t bring items that have Halal certification labels on them.
- Do not sit in front of a Murti while chanting mantras. Sit on the side so that other devotees can perform “Darshana” and/or their prayers.
- Devotees are quested to put all chairs (floor or metal) back into racks after use.
- Please do not Parikrama around Durga Mata during an on-going program inside the temple.
- Kids are most welcome in the temple. In fact, parents must bring their children to the temple so that they know about our religion and culture. But please make sure that they are NOT PLAYING OR RUNNING AROUND in the temple or lobby or dining hall. Devotees’ cooperation is appreciated in maintaining decorum at the temple.
- Please follow instructions by temple volunteers during special programs to facilitate crowd management and avoid rush-related accidents.
- Do not park in the reserved spaces to avoid towing away of your car.
- Do not throw any garbage on the floor in the temple. Devotees’ cooperation will be appreciated to keep the premises neat and clean.
- Smoking, Meat, and Alcohol are strictly prohibited on the temple premises
- The shopping area across the temple does not allow parking by temple devotees. Parking in that area will be at your own risk.
RULES RELATED TO “SHIVLING”.
- Use only small quantity of diluted milk.
- No item other than diluted milk is allowed on “Shivling”
